Dr Alfredo Tjiurimo Hengari, who assumed office in December 2025 as Ambassador of the Republic of Namibia to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of Mission to the European Union , paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Sibusisiwe Mngomezulu at the Eswatini Embassy in Brussels on 24 February 2026.
The meeting was primarily introductory in nature and served to reaffirm the cordial relations between the Republic of Namibia and the Kingdom of Eswatini. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest within the framework of multilateral diplomacy, with particular emphasis on the future trajectory of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) as it marks 50 years of existence.
Both Ambassadors reflected on the evolution of the OACPS, its strategic relevance in a changing global order, and the need to consolidate unity and effectiveness in advancing the collective interests of its member states. In this regard, they also exchanged views on the upcoming OACPS Summit of Heads of State and Government scheduled to take place from 27 to 29 March 2026 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, noting its significance in shaping the organisation’s reform agenda and long-term vision.
The courtesy call underscored the importance of continued consultation and coordination among OACPS member states in Brussels, particularly in the context of engagement with the European Union and other multilateral partners.
