16/03/2026

The Kingdom of Eswatini participated in the Second International Participants Meeting (IPM 2) for EXPO 2027 Belgrade, held in Belgrade, Serbia from 10–12 March 2026. The meeting brought together representatives of participating countries and international organisations to review preparations and coordinate participation in the upcoming international exhibition.

The Eswatini delegation was led by His Excellency Ambassador Sibusiswe Mngomezulu, who serves as the Section Commissioner for the Kingdom of Eswatini for EXPO 2027 Belgrade. The delegation comprised of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Sports, as well as the Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Brussels, forming a delegation that represented the country in discussions and planning sessions during the meeting.

The three-day programme included high-level presentations and working sessions focusing on the development of the EXPO site, programme creation, marketing and media strategies, and operational planning for participating countries. These engagements provided international participants with practical guidance on preparing their national pavilions and contributions to the exhibition.

EXPO 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027 under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.” The exhibition aims to bring together countries from around the world to showcase ideas, culture, and innovation, while highlighting how play, sport, and music can contribute to human development and international cooperation.

Through its participation in IPM 2, the Kingdom of Eswatini reaffirmed its commitment to the Expo process and to contributing meaningfully to the global dialogue fostered by EXPO 2027 Belgrade. The delegation also used the opportunity to strengthen partnerships and further develop Eswatini’s plans for presenting its culture, creativity, and development initiatives at the exhibition.
